Do you know how many solar panels are on the roof?
We are very excited to share that Cloquet Schools is producing renewable solar energy on the CMS/CHS campus! This project and grant were through the Solar for Schools program which is part of the Minnesota Commerce Department Energy & Utilities.
As a component of the grant, the CHS Earth Systems 9th grade course developed a science standards-based storyline themed unit on the question: how can sustainable home design help meet energy demands and reduce greenhouse gas emissions?
Special thanks to Cheyenne Deters who started the grant, Amy Hexum and Stephanie Marsh for helping pilot the unit, Dr. Cary, admin team and School Board for supporting the project, Brock Wilton and other facilities staff and Wolf Track Energy and Solar Edge for the installation.
