Washington Elementary in Cloquet is one of only two schools in the state to receive a national award.
Washington was recognized as an ESEA Distinguished School for its academic accomplishments.
It was specifically awarded for the Native American students’ scores in the state standardized test last spring. About 25% of Washington’s student body identifies as Native American.
